The Pediatric Surgery Fellowship program at UMMC is a fully accredited, two-year program which accepts one new resident every other year. Participation in the NRMP ensures that the requirements of the ACGME and the American Board of Surgery are met in the selection process. ERAS applications are required and invitations for interviews are offered to qualified applicants. An applicant is expected to complete a general surgery residency training in an accredited program.
As part of the ERAS application, this program requires the following:
- Curriculum vitae
- Personal statement
- Recent photograph
- Three letters of recommendation
- USMLE and ABSITE scores
The interview period will begin early February and will conclude by mid-April. Eligible applicants will be invited for an interview during which they will meet the faculty, tour the facilities and have ample interaction with the current fellow in the program. An applicant without U.S. citizenship must have either a J-1 Visa or Permanent Resident status (green card) in order to be employed at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
